Eilean Donan Castle
One of the most photogenic castle in Scotland, Eilean Donnan castle is located in Lock Duich in the highlands of Scotland. The castle is located in a small island and is connected to the mainland by a footbridge. We stopped by this island while following a backpacker trip in Scotland highlands.
Eilean Donnan is located on the western highlands. On a clear day, you could probably see Isle of Skye but during my visit it was quite cloudy.
Glen Coe
Glen Coe is one of the most beautiful place in Scotland. Many have climbed up high just to take a magnificent and grand view from the top. The backpacker bus that i followed stopped by this magnificent glen for a rest and the stream is just at the roadside.
I wish i could climb up high to take the whole view of Glen Coe but we were there for only 15-20 minutes. This is a place you must visit when you go to Scotland Highlands.
Alnwick Castle
Alnwick Castle is located in the town of Alnwick, Northumberland and is the residence of the duke of Northumberland. This castle is a popular filming spot. Scenes from Harry Potter, where Harry Potter first learn to ride the broomstick and play Quidditch is filmed inside this castle.
Feather of Swan
Just as I pass by Leazes Park in Newcastle city centre, i saw a flock of swans swimming in the lake. Without any hesitation, I draw out my newly purchased Sigma AF-K 70-210mm (bought a used one cheap from eBay). The photo turn out to be quite soft on the tele end…
Tynemouth
Tynemouth is situated in the mouth of River Tyne, in between North Shields and Whitley Bay in the county of Tyne and Wear. It is just half an hour ride by Metro from Newcastle. Facing the North Sea, the view of Tynemouth pier and the lighthouse is just breathtaking with the wind of North Sea.
If you ever been to Tynemouth, do drop by Colmans Fish and Chip Restaurant in the North South Shields. They serve quality and fresh fish and chips and definitely one of the best fish and chips i ever tried in the UK.
